Re: PS - That Viewsonic Airpanel looks pretty damn cool

Hey I build alot of computers and have been doing it for many years, if you need any help email me privately at Fsatsil@optonline.net
There are many options out there, i think a laptop is a waste of money for your needs. You could just get a small desktop like a Mac Mini or Aopen mini and it will take less room than a laptop. You could use a small 7in touchscreen and you wouldnt even need a mouse or anything you can use the touchscreen to change tracks and volume and stuff. If you dont want a touchscreen they also make remotes for computers, I use the ATI Remote Wonder plus and its great, I can control everything on my computer from it. A wireless screen is a nice idea as well, you could have it right near ur listening chair and you wouldnt even have to get up. They make everything wireless, mouse, keyboard, monitor....etc Will this be used strictly as a music server or will you use it for other computer duties as well?? That will really tell you what kind of equipment u need. If its strictly a music PC, you really dont need much cpu power at all, stay away from Intel though athey run very hot and arent as powerful as AMD. An entry level AMD Sempron is more than enough for a music server, if youll be using it for other things you may want to step up to a dual core cpu, Intel just released the entry level pent-D805 for under $150, by far the most inexpensive dual core chip on the market, but if you can afford it the AMD 3800x2 for $300 is a far more powerful chip and will run cooler as well. Email mne if you have any questions
