is whether the Firewire port is tied to the same controller as the built-in wireless node. This is the case with my Dell Inspiron 6000 and was a major source of problems when I tried to connect my Presonus 8-channel A/D recording interface to it. I ended up purchasing a separate PCMCIA-to-Firewire controller for the Presonus and all is well.Cheers,
