I stand corrected. I wouldn't have guessed that it was all about noise.
I would have thought the noise would be rejected to start with. CMR
I see there are 10 6sn7s in the MP1 preamp. How many 6sn7s are there in the output stage? I guess if you have enough of them, a 600 ohm load would not cause the distortion to rise.
