Hi Lew,

For a few years I used a Joule Electra preamp which is single ended into my M60's. They sounded great and when I bought the MP3, I have always used it balanced. I must say that I never felt the need to use the MP3 single ended. The difference in sound between the Joule and MP3 are not that great except to say that all of the virtues of the Joule are just improved upon 200%. This is to say that everything
just sounds bigger and more powerful and of course with the voltage regulation of the MP3 it is very quite. This quiteness is very tube dependent and if you have a noisy tube you will hear it.
