I am doing exactly as you described in your answer to Mr. Williams above. MP-3 into 12 tube MA-1s (no impedance switch) by replacing the 2X 100k resistors with 1x 12K across pins 2&3 of the input XLR. I gleaned all this from careful reading of the ASOG archives. I did it to try to minimze the effect of the pre to power amp cables. I am very happy with the mod.
