What I don't understand is that the line (the wire being used as an interconnect between the preamp and the power amp) is already at the output impedance of the preamp. Using low value terminating resistors at the power amp end will only load down the preamp. Triodes produce less distortion when the load is high. So if you use low value resistors your preamp stage will be more distorted.The terminating resistors are the grid resistors for the first stage of the power amplifier and can only be so big before causing problems for the input tube but higher is better as far as the preamp's last stage is concerned.
