HowdyI use dead soft silver cables (TGAudio high purity interconnects and speaker wire) and my system has all of the dynamic slam you could ask for. I chose the TGAudio for that reason and they deliver everything I expected.
Also there isn't any brightness or hardness to the cables or my system.
I definitely agree with the others that something else than silver vs. copper is what you are experiencing.
