Retraction

The idea of having the mastering engineer make a EQ'd tape that could be copied so lacqures can be cut, without the need for a mastering engineer each time, sounds like something an industry that does not care about quality would do.

So I will restate, The proper way to make a record is to use the original master tape, not a copy, not an EQ'd copy.

Why anyone would use an EQ'd copy of the master tape to make a CD is beyond me. If MFSL can get the original master tape why couldn't the makers of early CD's? Maybe it goes back to an industry that does not care about quality.
