i've heard another, similar story...

the gentleman who builds galibier turntables takes orders for schroeder arms. elsewhere, he stated that the huge backlog is being worked-on, but he did not cite any examples of people receiving arms in recent times.

i know of someone who has been waiting 18-24 months without ANY word about it.

the evidence strongly suggest that they are waaaaaay behind their normally slow schedule, at best, and if i were a betting man my money would be on you not receiving your tonearm.

one question that i asked myself when i considered ordering one was that this is clearly a one-man show, and mr schroeder's definitely got some issues he's working on... did i want that level of support (or lack thereof) post-sale? what if anything ever went wrong and i needed service or a replacement part? what type of response time could be expected? what if he goes MIA again? also, given the reasons for his hiatus/backlog, are the current tonearms coming out (if any) up to the same standard?

although there is little doubt that schroeders are great tonearms, i went elsewhere as at that level of cost you have many fine options.
