Bose is soooooo popular, but soooooo overpriced. Kinda like a McDonald's hamburger if they were able to sell billions at $10, not $1.99. Or, for instance, Bayer aspirin if it cost 2-3 times as much and had half the dosage. The fact is, a Bose speaker cost about 1/3rd to 1/5th the cost of a good speaker of similar retail price. The money is spent on marketing for the most part and good lawyers.Bose is good at making sufficiently decent (by most people's standards) products at very low to build costs and charge huge amounts because of the name. Once people have felt ripped off by them, they tend to be pretty anti-Bose.
IOW, it would be hard to do worse than Bose for the money. Very hard. It has the odd position of being the biggest *and* the worst value. It drives people crazy!
