If ever I have to have a follower, I will next put in an all triode SLCF. The last experiment had no room for another triode, and a friend squeezed in a MOSFET and I heard the results. Still, excellent.
In both of my systems I have no followers and don't really want any. BUT, it would be really interesting to know what one of those might do to help drive my TVC from the phono output. I have no buffer there on mine and use a 6GK5 in a common cathode to drive it directly. The sound is all there to me, no bass problems, but I have to wonder if a little SLCF buffering would be beneficial.
