I had a Otari MTR-15 mastering machine until we moved last year and it was a beauty. It had low hours and I got it for $1500. The alignment computer lets you use all tape brands and grades, tape handling is superb and it is a lot of fun to play with it. And the sound... just great. But the thing is huge. The industrial look doesn't make it suited for use in a living room. My wife would have killed me. My Studer 810 is more wife-friendly and also a definite step up from the B77. My version offers four speeds and therefore is more flexible than the B77HS. Now I have a Studer 820 waiting for me. I can't wait...
