I'm aware the Dragon is better in playback because of the automatic azumith adjustment...but how close is the 505? I simply ask because there is a substantial price drop between the two (about half the price). From eBay pricing, the CR-7A is more expensive than that Dragon, around $700-800, whereas the Dragon is around $550-650 and the 505 around $300-350.
