The RX-202, RX-303 and RX-505 had UniDirectional Auto Reverse, a mechanical mechanism that would eject, spin, and reload the tape. It was based on the theory that the head azimuth could not be optimized for both directions. The automatic azimuth adjustment feature in the Dragon was actually motivated in part by the desire to improve on the mechanism in the RX series.
