First, it comes from my own measurements, published with Walt Jung in 1985, but it is also in 'The Secret Life of Capacitors' , part of a reference book I think. Typical numbers for DA:
Mylar 0.5%
Polystryene .02%
Aluminum foil 10%I have measured over 6% with the so called Jung/Curl DA test back in 1985. This was published in "A REAL-TIME SIGNAL TEST FOR CAPACITOR QUALITY", 'The Audio Amateur' 4/85 and in 'High Fi News' sometime later.
And these are harmonic distortion figures? Or are they just percentage figures of the recovered voltage?
