Be nice, mate ...

What's wrong with the idea that every component in a music system should ideally have zero intrinsic colouration? Then the signal which you hear out of your speakers is the same as the signal on the CD/LP except louder!!

Yes, I know it's impossible but if you can select one component that as-near-as-dammit meets this spec, then I would have thought this was a good thing.

NB: I am not saying that a cable with the "lowest electrical specifications" is necessarily one that has zero colouration but the theory implies this. (Remember the old 70s ad for Quad amps - "a straight wire with gain"!!)
