RE Studio Cables

1st, recording studios are the hardest place to be able to hear cable sonics, because they have the purest, least contaminated signal to work with.

See "Using Up the Error Budget in the Studio":
http://www.audioasylum.com/audio/cables/messages/30013.html

This doesn't mean that they won't notice, or can't, just that it is harder to do so in one sense.

2nd, studios have a LOT of cables, and the sheer number of feet of cable mean that they are working within a budget. The cables they use are what they can afford to use, not necessarilly the best, or what they would prefer to use.
Yes, the big name studios can afford to use whatever they want, and often choose an audiophile grade cable, see the list of famous studios at the Monster Cable website, and many use Cardas or Kimber, both considered to be in the perenial top ten of high performance consistency.

3rd, there are other considerations for certain cables in a studio, such as reliability under the stress of being walked on day after day, or plugged and unplugged constantly. Hence the not unreasonable leanings toward Mogami, Belden, etc., for a combination of cost, reliability, and last of all, performance.
