I used the Slagle mu metal transformers at the ouput of my Sony 9000es and believe that they are actually better than the Audio Consulting ones. The reason why is that they use mu metal for the core material. Mu metal has consistently been found by audiophiles to be the most transparent and dynamic core material (do a search for mu metal or high nickel and see for yourself). Why are those Audio Consulting transformers so expensive? They use silver wire while the Slagle transformers use copper wire. But Dave wound a set of his transformers in silver and compared it to the copper and could not hear the difference. I would put my $ on the Slagle transformers....
