For gosh sakes, don't use the phono input, no matter what

(1) Phono stage has RIAA equalization built in. This will make the sound really "funny" with CDs that are typically flat over the audible frequency range. (And I don't mean funny haha; I mean funny peculiar.)
(2) 0.75V = 750mV. That's a whole lot of voltage even for a MM type phono stage designed for an input of about 5mV, tops. Could/would possibly produce some additional very unpleasant distortions not to mention possible speaker or amplifier damage.
