there was one I had my eye on in the 70's but I never could save up the money for it, as it had much better specs than my 8 Track player. I finally got a used Teac Reel to Reel for $150.00 from a pawnshop instead.I remember the "klunk" and the fading up and down as it changed tracks in the middle of movements in Classical music. Biggest problem was that the tape would loose lubricant over time as it winds on itself and break.
Another flaw is no rewind and fast forward was very slow.
However the 8 Track tape of Jethro Tull's Aqualung is the best I've ever heard this recording. The only thing that comes close is the MFSL LP.
Happy listening,
Teresa
