Sorry to have hijacked this post.Just wondering if those figures that you have stated, is what is measured in your amps with the 32 dB global feedback or without.
I have several OPTs that can do 15Hz to 80kHz (no drop) with about 20dB global feedback, but they can't even produce 15kHz without global feedback.
Recently I have been preoccupied with zero global feedback amps, and I find that every OPTs behave very differently in this mode. Same circuitry just different OPTs. I have access to about ten different brands for testing and more than a handful of custom wounds by reputable sources.
I must admit that this new trend of zero global feedback designs have something special about the way it reproduces music. Obviously the OPTs must be up to task. I recently measured a 300b SE amp that produces sq wave at 20Hz (we are talking sq, not skewed sq) without global feedback that is totally amazing. It sounds great too.
This research is taking me to new places and I do not know what the upshoot is going to be for me in the future. OPTs are really an art form more than science. I use to think that big irons are good, but not so now.
Cheers
William
