one does not need to "gut" an amplifier to use the output transformers in a different amp. Just remove them carefully so you can put them back at a latter date.I am using the outputs from a Eico HF-87 in my PP 6b4g amps. With 5 wires on the primary and 5 wires (they have 4,8,16 and 32 ohm taps) secondary, that's only a total of 20 connections and they are back in place.
