And Ray, I could tell you that they all sounded drastically different in the same circuit. For you and Jeff to say that they are all good and is probably less important than the circuitry, I can not accept. I have actually heard them and have seen them tested for bandwidth and square wave distortion. I keep going back to custom wound, as I can reject them if it does not meet my spec. My experience from those rejects tells me that the turn ratio is critical.300B SET OPT from the above mentioned brands, can range from bad to ugly in a no NFB application. Some have hardly anything above 15k at 1 watt. The best one I have seen from a commercial OPT is the Audio Note 300B ones.
In my opinion, one is wasting their time if they don't get the OPT right.
