First, KT88 was designed with UL operation in mind. I believe it should be the best option. A bonus is that the load impedance for UL is far less critical than it is for tetrode mode.Second, it's true that triodes give less distortion and less power with higher load impedance, but for tetrodes/pentodes that is certainly not true. The optimum load impedance is quite critical but they do tend to work better into a lower impedance rather than a higher impedance. The load criticality can be reduced by local NFB.
Third, it is true that the higher the turns ratio, the worse the OPT performs. Some people use this as a justification for parallel tubes and/or 16 ohm speakers. However, I don't think this should be an important factor in selecting operating mode.
