Jay, hello,

I haven't come across any problems yet with taape alignment using TDK SAX, TDK MA and Maxell MAX. Other than for bright treble response, what are the signs of the 215 failing to align?

FWIW, I seem to recall that I was not keen on BASF chrome tapes in my NAK (thin & bright) - but it's been a while since I last tried BASF - and it could have been my system at the time, in those days I was going for studio monitor style accuracy, rather than compromised euphony.

In my present main system, the 215 sounds warm and less detailed than the nak, say, like comparing a woodblock to a copper plate etching...

Have you found that your readout on the 215 is dim/poorly lit?

I have the original Revox remote but am in the UK, so postage may be an issue as opposed to finding another Revox user nearer to home.
