Danny,
Thanks for posting your experience with your Revox. This bank holiday weekend I picked up a Revox combo of 260-S tuner (my third one over the past fifteen years) and for the first time, a Revox 215-S cassette deck, both in wonderful condition with one previous owner from new, which was back in 1989... (thanks John).
I'm a confirmed Nak-fan, having owned a CR7E for the past fifteen odd years (is it really that long... getting old, it seems to me sometimes creeps up on you... best to accept it like a big wet sloppy kiss) but had always heard good things about the Revox cassette decks.
Now, er somewhat belatedly, when cassette tape is just another defunct technology and a distant/irrelevant memory from a past generation - I can compare these two heavy-weights with perhaps dewy eyed sentimentality.
That accepted, for me, analogue cassette recordings still possess a heady elixior which is far more than damp nostalgia (sp).
Time marches on...
Regards,
Frank
