That is a solid deck at a great price but I would be leery of those old tapes. About a month ago I took some new Quantegy tape over to a friend who has the A2300sx and we were just blown away by how good it sounded. In fact, I had to rush home and put something on my machine to make sure his didn't sound better, if you know what I mean. But old tape, even quality stuff, just doesn't compare that well to Quantegy's current crop of goods. You can record at +6 db levels or more with no problem. Great stuff.Wes
