I don't know much about RTR, but I do know it's a lot easier to play a record than to put on a tape reel, thread it, play it, and then rewind it. Also, tapes aren't very long and are definitely not cheap. You might as well just play the records!Recording to DAT on the other hand, is a *very* convenient way to transcribe LP's if you can live with 16-bit digital. 2 hours of recording time is pretty nice, too.
