It sounded pretty much as Charles Hansen said it would with all its loop feedback. It's got to go.

Why do you assume that your poor results were exclusively due to feedback and absolutely nothing to do with the devices used and the circuit they were implemented in?

Consider these words by the late Harvey Rosenberg:

Dr. Gizmo, Guildmeister of the Triode Guild, America's most beloved thermionic techno-shaman says..."If I had to pick one solid state amp to listen to, Junji Kimura's 47 Lab's revolutionary micro-amp would be the one".

Of course the heart of the 47 Lab Gaincard is a $2.50 power opamp with gobs of global negative feedback. So clearly negative feedback is hardly a universally bad thing.

Anyway, I'm not saying you'll necessarily ever be happy with any implementation of a Sziklai pair. Just seems a bit premature to write something off entirely based on a singular experience.
