Kurt, it is a bit more complicated than that. First, I am very surprised that the 2SK214 is $43. You are shopping at the wrong place. If the 2SK1058 is 4 X a 2SK213, then that will be the most rational choice. My slightly dated MCM catalog gives the price of the 2SK214 at about $4.50. Borbely (sp) probably sells them at a reasonable price as well.
As far as capacitance is concerned: A follower 'bootstraps' its input capacitance to a large degree, and effective Cgs is reduced significantly. This is what Charles is adding in to get a much lower Ciss.
