No, the Mac sound card was used in conjunction with the Mac The Scope software to do the FFT spectrum of the distortion output of the ST-1700B.

In other words, the cable being measured was connected at one end to the signal output (1kHz, 30mV) of the 1700B, the other end of the cable was connected to the input of the 1700B, and the distortion output (the resultant signal with the fundamental notched and gain applied) of the 1700B was fed into the input of the sound card on John's Mac and the Mac The Scope software did the FFT analysis.
