My first stage gets the residual below -95dB relative to the null, and my harmonic residuals are significantly lower, giving me a resolution of the higher harmonics to about -120 dB re 30mV or about -150dB relative to one volt, or DBV.If this were true, and the higher harmonics are in fact sitting at about -150dBV, that means that the residual distortion products of the 1700B, if we consider just the second and third harmonics to be the residual, are sitting only about 6dB above most of the higher order harmonics, or about -144dBV. That would put them at 114dB below the 30mV (-30dBV) fundamental. In order for that to be the case, then the residual distortion of your 1700B would have to be at least an order of magnitude better than what you have said it is, i.e. more like 0.001% rather than 0.01%.
I'm sorry, John, but almost nothing you have claimed regarding your measurments and how far down you're actually measuring ever seems to add up to anything that makes any sense and jibes with other claims you have made.
