This is all true, Victor. In my case, I went for noise averaging to get the noise out, rather than extremely low input noise. My phono circuits normally operate at 0.4nV/rt Hz which is the equivalent noise of a 10 ohm resistor. Unfortunately, it is difficult to add a feedback loop around these circuits in order to get virtually unmeasurable distortion for making distortion tests, because the feedback resistor to ground becomes a major noise source if it is greater than 5 ohms.
