Surely if you talk to dealers who've got established lines they'll tell you there are buyers, say doctors, lawyers, professional athelets who will come in and buy the most expensive of hifi's. These guys aren't "audiophiles" like most of us and they might not even have a large collection of music. They want just want something nice and that's what they are going to buy. These guys mostly buy on established reputation or word of mouth.But these kinds of buyers aren't limited to the high end. I think Bose is marketed almost exactly like lots of high end equipment and I don't think it's buyers are anymore hobbyists than alot of people who are buying high end equipment.
You go on denying or questioning whether or not these kinds of buyers exists - no skin off my back. I don't question it one iota. My question is whether or not these kinds of buyers make up the majority of audio buyers, ie. that those of use who are audio hobbyists are actually the minority.
