New Mac Mini Setup

Abe, u up?

For several reasons I've decided to go ahead and get a new MM to setup as my streamer and storage device. I've looked around, and for an all in one solution it seems to be my best option. Not looking for the last word in "audiophile" approved options or cost. My biggest concern is that I don't want to be stuck with a dedicated hardware/software boat anchor (ROON Nucleus, Blue Sound, remember Olive?, etc) should those Co's go belly up. I've lived with my SB Touch for years without Logitech, but that was by sheer luck and off books support. The MM will last probably the rest of my life and get passed down to someone.

Here's the thing, I'll be running it "headless" using either my phone or iPad as a remote to control ROON. I know I need a monitor and keyboard for initial setup, but after that does anyone out there that runs it like I'm after need those peripherals again, or can it be set and forget? How does screen sharing work with a Mini on an MB Pro? Getting a new one of those too, my battery is bulging and the Apple geniuses won't replace just the battery. Hoping once the new machines are up and running I can find an aftermarket I break u fix joint to just do the battery. The current machine is still good, just don't want it to explode!

I'll be heading to the Space Ship soon, and the mini in my Apple bag is thus:

M4 Mini
24Gb "unified memory"
512 Gb SSD storage (It will only be used to store any future Hi Res purchases, which will not be numerous, I'm not wasting my time ripping what I can get through Qobuz instantly)

Far more hardware than needed for streaming I know, but I'd like it to be pretty future proof should it get passed on for actual computer use some day. Oh, and I get to use the Apple Education store (legitimately!) discount thanks to my soon off to college daughter.
