The ASIO4ALL is applied to the sound device utilized by the PC, not the playback application.... So it improves all the players, not just Foobar.... In fact, with the Zoom WMV, the sonics now approach that of my home systems.... (The Foobar does not quite have that full-blown dynamic scale.) Bob Curnow's band, within the power and bass limitations of the apartment system, has that sweet sound that can awaken the dead....I've also switched back to the Monster USB cable. Apparently, it brought forth the flaws of the 44.1-to-48 kHz conversion, which before being aware of this quirk, made me prefer the M-Audio USB cable. Now with the conversion removed by ASIO4ALL (the conversion option unchecked), the Monster USB brings forth the subtle textures and sparkle deep in the recording.
