Re: Anything special about the Zoom WMV player?

I've gone through a *lot* of media players, and no two sound the same.... Winamp is dynamic but grainy. Goldwave is clean and resolute but has top-end compression (limiting). Foobar 2000 sounds smooth but lacks resolution (forgiving). Quintessential and MediaCenter sound somewhere between the Foobar and Goldwave. The Core Media Player sounds compressed. The Zinf player does not play AIFF format. What I just cited were what I thought were the better performers. Some media players were downright awful. Sony Sound Forge (dead sound) and VLC (jagged playback) amongst them.

The Zoom WMV is simply more transparent and is devoid of the dynamic anomalies I've often come across. The WMV (with the Fubar) stands out with complex music- I just hear everything, with almost no congestion.
