Kernel Streaming to my ears is way too soft-sounding while DirectSound and Waveout cannot bypass the Windows K-mixer, which resamples everything to 48kHz, leading to non bit-perfect output."I just installed the ASIO4ALL utility, disabled the "48kHz conversion".... And it indeed transforms Foobar.... I never knew about the conversion to 48 kHz.... It turns out that has been limiting the performance, regardless of player being used.... (I could never get Kernel streaming to work.)
