As far as your comments on toroidal power transformers in general, I am certainly not qualified to argue with John Curl, but on the other hand many excellent sounding products do use toroidal power trannies. Re Atma-sphere products, there is no one answer that is correct for all. For example, the preamps may now use toroidal power trannies, and some of the amps do too, but some of the higher power amps (e.g., possibly the MA1 and certainly the MA2) use Ei types. AFAIK, no C or D types are used by Atma. (What's a D type, by the way?) Ask Ralph re specific products. I personally would not get hung up on whether the product uses toroidal power trannies, or some other type, as a major determinant of which one to purchase.
