Re: ZZZZZZ

I forgot to mention some important tweaks, after being distracted by some useless arguments.
I still would like to share with you guys tweaks considered to be a joke by somebody else, before I lapse into presbyacusis after another 30 years of audio experience.
First is to defeat as many connectors as possible, by soldering the joints directly together. The most effective place to perform this tweak is from the cartridge to the phono amp, take SME as an example, defeat the headshell wire connectors (you may need to change the tonearm wire to a longer one), you will hear substantial improvement. If you use DIY interconnects, solder it directly into the amp's circuit.
Second is to play around with fuses, if you dare, bypass them, if you are scared, change them to silver ones, RS probably made fine silver fuses in the past. Magneplanar owners may find this tweak interesting by changing the tweeter fuse.
The most important tweak is to tweak your ear every now and then by visiting concert halls regularly. One may have lost his insight of true music if they haven't heard it for some time. Having a good reference point of true music, you never have to own tons of equipment and float in an uncharted sea of audio gears, since you will know what exactly you should look for.
Whether a tweak works or not may subject to the ear of the beholder, but objective advice from musicians is valuable. Once a musician (actually a conductor) who knows nothing about speaker cable asks me what I have done to improve the sound so much, after changing from MIT to Siltech.
