Could be your speakers...

I had a similar thing years ago and it turned out to be a breakup mode in one tweeter. I finally isolated it by doing a sine sweep of each channel. Ordered a replacement tweeter but sadly it did the same thing so I bought new speakers. Oddly the other speaker didn't exhibit the problem, I needed a another tweeter like THAT one...
