I had the same problem. If I listened to Barber's adagio for strings, for example, everyt;hing sounded great until the big crescendo. I did fix the problem, but it cost me. Got a new CD player (Tjoe Tjoeb- upscale Audio) and new interconnects (Signal Cable). Now I have silk all the way through even difficult material like massed strings playing moderatly loudly. The CD player has a 24 bit upsampler and this may help smooth-out complex signals. The interconnects with Eichman bullets may help screen out noise. The bad news is that all this cost about 1K. The good news? I have an audio system that for me is beyond belief and the music is extremely satisfying emotionally.
