My system exhibits wonderful sound until moderately loud massed violins are playing. At this point screeching becomes the order of the day for the sound of the massed violins. Help! I have tried two different amps and two different CD players with no noticeable improvement. Preamp problem? My tubed preamp uses a 6X4 rectifier and two 6922 tubes. I have tried two different pairs of 6922 tubes; this leaves the possibility of rolling the 6X4 tube which is currently a Sylvania WA with less than 20 hours.
Am I missing something? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
