Try tube dampers and try bypassing the pre all together. Connect the CDP to the amp. Watch out on loud passages. Be ready to hit stop on the CD remote. I did this test once and actually burned some CD's after modifying the wave file by -10db to ensure I wouldn't overload things. I now have a passive linestage. No need for two linestages to my ear. (one in the CDP and one in the pre) What a great improvement in every aspect!ET
