Thanks everyone, for the helpful advice. I guess what I'm mainly wondering about now is why the getter flash covers such a small and uneven area of each tube. It clearly wasn't designed this way. I think I read on one of the Googled pages that the getter flash can disappear as inert gases are neutralized. I've never seen this happen. Could this mean the tubes are used? They look factory fresh. There is literally a small circumference of silver barely extending around the "nipple" of one tube. On the other, it is like a half a pie, covering 1/2 of the top of the tube, but extending to the sides on that half. Does anyone have an explanation or any concerns about this?
