Home Vintage Asylum

Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

Watco is what I use to restore the Oiled Walnut cabinets.

Remove the old, dead, tired, dirty oiled finish with something like acetone (aggressive for removing the bad, dries quickly) lightly sand after raising the grain as needed and then Watco for a few coats letting it soak in a bit and buffed off. Follow with howard's feed and wax once a day (a week) once a week (month) and then once a month for a few times to get the oils back into the wood. Then annual cleaning and refresh if necessary.

I don't use Watco on top of other finishes.
