And the prep for each would be different also, i.e. the sanding grit etc. Also the 4ought finishing touch etc, whatever is appropriate. Have your friend come over and take a good look or take the samples over to him and see what he says. It would help greatly to take some good pics and post them here also, otherwise we are all guessing without a complete and thorough description.

Acoustic guitar finishes on a dreadnaught are lacquer and much different from what you might need and are willing to do.
