You may want to look at the Shure KSM series. They're good mics, not too pricey, and have a little warmth.On the other hand, I love my Schoeps, too!
Not sure what you meant by "12 volt, for Schoeps". Mine are 48v.
Omnis are my preferred type, but of course it will depend on your recording environment and taste.
