...if you're looking for affordable, versatile, large-diaphragm microphones with a very nice tonal balance, I would recommend a pair of ADK A51TLs. They have four switchable polar patterns making them suitable for virtually any stereo application: X-Y, ORTF, Blumlein, Mid-Side, Split-Omni, you name it.
