Re: What Is It With All These Cassette Fanatics??? Open Reel Forum Please!!

Alan,

I own six open reel decks (3 Revox, 1 Studer, a Stellavox and a little Tandberg from the 50's). Yeah, they're wonderful machines and technically are capable of superior sonics compared to even the best of cassette decks. In spite of this, I still continue to thoroughly enjoy making cassette recordings (primarily for use in my late model car -- an old Mercedes coupe). The Revox B215 cassette deck I own makes recordings that actually rival the CD source (when compared directly using the monitor function on the deck). Here's my offer to you: If you can hear the difference between the CD source and the cassette tape copy, I will personally kiss your ass! That said, try to relax that sphincter of yours! Chillout and enloy the show! 8>)

("old, outdated" analog technology can still sound like music!)

Happy New Year to all!
